Center City Residence
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This adaptive reuse project transformed a vacant community building into a single family residence. The existing building’s street-fronting exterior walls were salvaged and reused, while new floor levels, more appropriate to its residential use, were inserted into the remaining shell. A new third story that corresponds to the height and scale of neighboring townhouses rises from within these original walls. Living spaces are organized around an interior courtyard, maximizing access to daylight and garden views while preserving privacy.
